Quinn McCarthy - Founder
Quinn has nearly three decades of equity capital markets experience and relationships. Quinn’s background as an equity institutional sales person, private placement professional, and venture capital services professional is the foundation on which Baton Equity Partners was built. During his career, Quinn has worked on hundreds of equity transactions, including IPOs, Secondaries, PIPES, 144A Transactions, block trades, private placements, and private secondary transactions. Quinn has relationships with some of the world’s largest institutions, along with an extensive network of private market participants, including mutual funds, hedge funds, VCs, family offices, and individuals. Prior to founding Baton, Quinn held equity sales roles with B. Riley, Sterne Agee, ThinkEquity, Montgomery & Co, Jefferies, and Chase H&Q. Quinn enjoys an active lifestyle with his family in Marin County, California. Quinn earned a B.A. in English Literature from Hobart College and holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
Luke Brugger - Head of Business Development
Luke started his career as an Institutional Equity Sales Person at B. Riley Financial where he worked on the Special Situations team. At B. Riley Luke worked on hundreds of transactions including IPOs, block trades, secondary raises, private placements, and private secondary transactions. Prior to joining Baton Equity, Luke was a member of the sales team at PitchBook data, where he built additional relationships in the private markets. Seeing the increasing need for providers of liquidity in the private markets, Luke joined Baton Equity in Early 2022, bringing his extensive relationships with family offices, founders, and VC managers. Luke Earned in A.B. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University and holds Finra Series 7 and Series 63 Licenses. Luke stays active with Snowboarding, mountain biking, and lacrosse. He is also an avid birder and artist.
Maira Fernandes - Business Strategy and Development
Maira has built a dynamic career in the securities industry, developing expertise in investment strategy, product development, asset allocation, and client servicing. She has worked extensively with institutional investors, including hedge funds, family offices, venture capital firms, sovereign wealth funds, and high-net-worth individuals, fostering strong relationships and delivering customized solutions.
She began her career at BlackRock, gaining deep expertise in money market instruments, mutual funds, and hedge funds. At Hartford Funds, she broadened her skill set to include fixed income securities, ETFs, and alternative investments. Most recently, Maira contributed to North Capital, focusing on exempt securities and private secondaries transactions.
Maira earned her BA in Finance and Marketing from Drexel University and holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses. Outside of work, Maira enjoys traveling with her children and exploring her creative side in the kitchen.
